The just transition must be based on knowledge. We can be successful in reshaping and developing Zasavje if we implement carefully considered changes in the economy and public services, as well as by shifting the local inhabitants’ mindset, habits, and values. We must provide them with new knowledge to empower them to actively engage and participate in the just transition.

With this in mind, the Zasavje Just Transition Center in cooperation with the Savinjska-Šaleška Region has founded the Just Transition Academy. The academy will serve as a joint platform for gaining the knowledge necessary for a successful just transition. The attendees of the lectures, training courses, seminars, and other events will be able to expand their knowledge of development and innovation and of a circular, green, and highly technological economy. The academy will also conduct studies, analyses, consulting, and other support activities to ensure a just transition.

The just transition is meant for all the inhabitants of the region, and the same goes for the Just Transition Academy. It is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs design effective and thoughtful projects and be successful in tenders for European funding. It is dedicated to helping employees gain the knowledge for jobs of the future. It is dedicated to making it easier for young people to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the just transition.

The Academy is dedicated to benefiting each and every inhabitant of Zasavje, because the just transition cannot be successful without them. So, you are very welcome to follow the activities of the Just Transition Academy, attend its trainings and events, and become part of the new story of Zasavje.
